OUR STUDIO OPEN HOUSE WILL BE HELD ON AUGUST 12TH & 13TH FROM 5:00-7:30 PM.

Recital 2014 Portraits (in-studio portraits) are ready for pick up at the studio. Watch your email and our facebook page for pick up times.
Recital 2014 DVDs should be in around mid August. WE WILL POST HERE AND SEND AN EMAIL WHEN  DVDS ARE READY TO BE PICKED UP AT THE STUDIO.

Dance Arts of Yardley specializes in early dance instruction and aims to make your child's first experience a good one! Our instructors use positive reinforcement and friendly encouragement to teach all of our class levels, but most especially with the very youngest dancers for whom we hope to inspire an initial love of the dance arts.

Our Instructors

Miss Melissa

Director and Owner ofDance Arts of Yardley

She has over 20 years of teaching and professional experience. She has trained extensively with former stars of the American Ballet Theatre, the Pennsylvania Ballet, and the Boston Ballet.

Miss Andrea

Miss Andrea has studied all forms of dance at the Broadway Dance Center, Dance Space, Koresh Dance Company and the Princeton Ballet, with such dance notables as Frank Hatchett, Ronnie Koresh, and Lori Abramson.

Miss Rachel

Miss Rachel earned her B.F.A. in Jazz Dance Performance from the University of the Arts. And received the Promising Artist Award from 2001-2006. She has studied ballet extensively with Princeton Ballet School’s Professional Training Program and performed with the American Repertory Ballet’s pre-company.

Miss Renee

Miss Renee has studied with the North Carolina School of the Arts and received her BFA in Dance and Choreography from the Virginia Commonwealth University. She has toured and performed professionally with the Richmond Ballet...

Miss Kristen

Miss Kristen started dancing at age 3 in her hometown of ClarksSummit, Pennsylvania. Her training continued at the Linn McDonald School of Dance under the artistic direction of Linn McDonald and Barbara Weisberger. She’s also studied at Broadway Dance Center NYC, and the Peabody Institute in Maryland.

Miss Lauren

Miss Lauren has over 15 years of serious dance study in tap, jazz and ballet. She has studied ballet intensively and her instructors include the world-renowned ballet master Yuri Sergeyev. She has danced professionally for Sesame Place, the Music and Motion Dance Troupe, the Vanaver Caravan Dance Company...

Miss Tricia

Tricia Bodziak has been dancing for nearly 30 years. She has studied with various teachers and studios in the Philadelphia area and is proficient in ballet, tap and jazz. Miss Tricia has danced competitively and earned top awards at local, regional and national competitions.

Miss Suzanne

Miss Suzanne trained extensively with the New Jersey School of Ballet under the direction of Edward Villella. She danced professionally with that company for a number of years, performing both jazz and ballet. She has instructed for the New Jersey School of Ballet and taught after-school seminars locally.

Miss Sherri

Miss Sherri is the creator and video artist of Fit-2-Kick, Kickbox-Jam, Criss Cross Cardio, Latin Groove and Street Funk. Sherri has been a dance fitness educator for the past 25 years. She has been featured on NBC10 (THE 10 Show), CNN8, and CBS3.

Miss Heather

Miss Heather began the serious study of dance by the age of nine at the American Ballet Center of the Joffrey Ballet, NYC. She also studied with the Monmouth Ballet on a full merit scholarship. She later performed for a number of years with the Princeton Ballet Company II under the direction...

Classes

Preschool Creative Dance (ages 3-5)

This class is intended to provide children with a fun-filled introduction to the study of dance. Children will learn basic feet and body positions while being encouraged to move creatively to popular children's music, in an atmosphere that promotes self-esteem and pride in their achievements.

Beginner Dance Combo (ages 5-7)

This class is an hour long combination of Ballet, Tap and Jazz.

Ballet (ages 5+)

Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced

All ballet students are taught the proper ballet fundamentals necessary for a solid foundation in dance. Correct ballet terminology is always stressed. Students progressing to the more advanced levels will receive preparation for professional dance life.

Pointe (pre-teen+)

A student may begin pointe after it has been determined that she has mastered proper body alignment,and possesses the necessary physical and mental strength required to begin this level of ballet training.

Jazz (ages 6+)

Students will develop flexibility and strength while learning various jazz jumps, turns, and combinations to popular music. Elements of Hip-Hop are taught to prepare students for this popular new dance style.

Lyrical (ages 6+)

Lyrical dance is an expressive form of dance incorporating ballet, jazz and modern. It is generally interpretive of the lyrics of pop-music ballads. Completion of Beginner Ballet is suggested.

Tap (ages 6+)

Students will sound out musical rhythms with the feet and learn to make quick changes of weight and direction.

Hip-Hop/Breakdance

This is the style of dance seen in pop-music videos and is taught by professional Hip-Hop dancers.

Dance Companies (ages 9+)

The Yardley Youth Ballet Company and the Jazz Performance Company are in-house companies that were created to give serious dance students a wider range of performance opportunities. Membership is open to students age nine and older and is by audition only. Company members receive substantial multiple class discounts.

Adult Dance

Ballet Body Shaping

This program was specially designed by Miss Melissa utilizing the principles of classical ballet training to create a unique exercise program geared toward evenly shaping the body. An assortment of popular and classical music is used to create an experience that is more than just a "work-out."

Jazz Exercise

Toning, strengthening and flexibility while dancing to popular music.

Tap Exercise
