Studio Rules

Dress Code

There is an annual non-refundable registration fee due upon enrollment of $15.00 per student (maximum of $30.00 per family with two or more registering).

The schedule is subject to change depending on enrollment and/or instructor availability.  Dance Arts of Yardley reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment or other cause.

To avoid congestion in the parking lot and within the studio, please drop off students and return at the end of class for pick-up.

Preschool Dance:  Students enrolling in fall must be age 3 by Sept. 1st and potty trained, please.  After December, new students must be at least 3-1/2 years old as of January 1st.

Ages listed are merely approximations.   Students will be placed in the class most suited to their overall ability and aptitude, regardless of convenience of time, etc.

Pointe:  Students who would like to study "pointe" must have permission from the instructor and be taking at least two weekly ballet technique classes.

Please look for important information to be listed on the office bulletin board and this web site.  Check weekly with your child for informational papers that their instructors send home with students.

If you do not hear from us after registering, assume you are in your requested class(es).  No further confirmation will be sent, so please mark your calendar for the start of your classes, Tuesday, September 7th, 2010.

Both tuition and registration fees are due upon registration.  Tuition may be mailed to:  Dance Arts of Yardley, 207 Floral Vale Blvd., Yardley, PA 19067, or given to the Studio Administrator in the office prior to the start of class.

The dance year is approximately 36 weeks long and divided into three 12-week trimesters for purposes of tuition payment.  We offer a family/multiple-class discount.  Tuition rates are set forth below.

(2.75 combined class hours)

(2.5 combined class hours)

All other classes -
Families paying for:

  • One weekly class (45 mins.-1 hr.)*- $156.00
  • Two weekly classes (45 mins.-1 hr.) - $300.00
  • Three weekly classes (45 mins.-1 hr.) - $432.00

Four or more Weekly Classes, add $96.00 to $432.00 for each class beyond three.

*1-1/4 and 1-1/2 hour classes:  please contact the studio for tuition rates.

Under exceptional circumstances, permission may be sought from the Studio Director to pay by single class.  Single class rate - $16.00 per class.

1.  The schedule is subject to change depending on enrollment and instructor availability.

2.  Dance Arts of Yardley reserves the right to change class times or cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment or other cause.

3.  Photos of our students are sometimes used for public relations purposes, in press releases, or on our website.  If you do not won't your child's photo used for these purposes, please notify us in writing and submit with the registration form.

4.  There are no refunds after the first class.  A missed class should be made up within a reasonable time in a comparable class.

5.  There will be no deductions from subsequently due tuition payments for missed classes.  There is no pro-rating of tuition for anticipated absences.

6.  Please call the studio if the student is going to be absent.

7. There is a $20 fee for all returned checks.  Thereafter all payments must be made in cash.

8.  Parents are required to pick up students promptly at the end of scheduled class times.

9.  The director reserves the right to dismiss any student who continues to be a class disturbance, is frequently absent, or verbally or physically abusive.

10.  There will be no refunds or make-up classes scheduled for snow days.  Those wishing to make-up a snow day may arrange to do so in a comparable class.

11.  The studio is not responsible for lost or stolen valuables.  Students should leave jewelry and other valuables at home.

12.   The policies listed on the back of the studio brochure should be read as an addendum to these enumerated policies.

1.  Appropriate dance attire required.  See dress code here and/or in the brochure.

2.  Hair must be secured in a bun, no loose strands.  Shorter hair must be pulled off the face and secured to the extent possible.  This goes for all classes, including preschool.

3.  No jewelry.  Children will be asked to remove any jewelry items.

4.  Absolutely no talking during class.

5.  Do not be late for class.

6.  No chewing gum.

7.  Please use bathroom before class begins.

8.  No hanging on ballet barres or pressing against mirrors.

9.  Students must request the instructor's permission before leaving the classroom.

10.  No offensive touching of fellow students.

11.  No food or drink in dance studio or front waiting area (except staff).  Food & drink are permitted in the toddler room.

12.  Parents, please supervise young children at all times while in the studio and outside.

13.  Please do not enter the studio when class is in session. Knock first, and await the instructor's response.

Violations of the rules may result in verbal correction by the instructor, discussion with the student's parent(s) or having the student sit for part of all of the class, as the situation requires.

Preschool Creative Dance:  Pink Leotard, Pink Tights, and Pink Leather Ballet Slippers.  (No Bedroom Slippers, please.)

Beginner Dance Combo:  Black or Pink Leotard, Pink Tights, Shiny Black Tap Shoes, and Pink Leather Ballet Slippers.

Ballet

Beginner & Intermediate:  Pink or Black Leotard, pink tights, Pink Leather Ballet Slippers.  Skirt is optional.  NO GYM SHORTS, no dance pants or sweat pants.

Advanced Levels:  Solid color leotard of choice, Pink or Black Tights, Pink Leather Ballet Slippers.  Skirt is optional.  NO GYM SHORTS, no dance pants or sweat pants.

Jazz & Tap

Jazz & Tap Combo:  Leotard of Choice, Tan or Black Tights, Slip-On elastic gore Jazz Boots without laces in suntan color, and Shiny Black Tap shoes.

Jazz (Beginner – Advanced Levels):  Leotard of Choice, Tan or Black Tights, and Slip-On elastic gore Jazz Boots without laces in suntan color.  Dance pants are optional.  No pajama bottoms!

Tap (Beginner – Advanced Levels):  Leotard of Choice, Tan or Black Tights, Lace-up Tap Oxfords in suntan color.  NO GYM SHORTS.  See instructor for other permissible warm-up wear.

Hip Hop:  Black Leotard, Tan or Black Tights, Black Hip Hop Sneakers.  Dance pants are optional.

Adult Jazz Dance:  Appropriate work-out wear; Tights and Leotard are preferred, but sweat pants/yoga pants and T-shirt are acceptable.
